Capabilities
Software, standards and the packages I take on as an associate. If you're checking whether I can work in your toolchain and to your conventions, the answer is probably here.
Design & development
From initial concept through to detailed design and release. Sheet metal, machined components, castings, enclosures and multi-part assemblies. Design for manufacture is part of the process rather than a review gate at the end — it's always better to resolve a tooling constraints or tooling access at concept than redraw at release.
Drawings & data packs
Fully dimensioned, GD&T-toleranced drawings to BS8888 or ASME Y14.5, issued to your title block, numbering and revision scheme. Tolerances derived from function and assembly stack, not applied by habit. Native and neutral CAD (STEP, Parasolid) supplied as required.
Independent review
Recovery: Programme drifting? An independent review of the decisions that got it there, and a practical route back to the requirements.
Assurance: For smaller teams without independent review, a periodic outside check that catches drift before it costs time and money.
Reverse engineering
Parametric, design-intent models built from your scan data. Deviation reports against the mesh, BS 8888 drawings in your template, and 2D-to-3D conversion of legacy drawing sets.
Inspection fixture design for repeatable measurement.
Analysis
Structural FEA and CFD, used to inform design decisions and to substantiate them at design review. Static, modal, thermal and flow work, sized to the question being asked — a hand calculation that answers it is a better deliverable than an analysis that impresses.
Working as an associate
White-label by default: your title block, your numbering, your name on the deliverable, and an NDA before any data changes hands. Each package is scoped and fixed-fee, so you can quote your own client with confidence.
For longer programmes, larger work packages can be phased over several months, or support provided on a monthly retainer, giving your team flexible capacity as demand changes.
Hydraulics
Valve and manifold design, circuit work, and component selection. CETOP Level 3, Mobile Hydraulics.
What I don't do
Electronics and PCB design, software, and certification sign-off. If a package needs those, I'll say so and where possible point you somewhere sensible.
